Since my modem mysteriously stopped working a couple of weeks ago, I’ve spent approximately a million years on hold to my ISP trying to get them to sort out the problem. Today, after the replacement modem they sent out didn’t work, a really nice guy called Shane RANG ME to help with things, and after getting me to try a few clearly ineffectual things, said “hang on - if I just click this button marked ‘activate’…”
