I Give Up

A couple of weeks ago I made an ill-considered decision to back the Cats to the bitter end. I now unreservedly retract every single word of it. Thank you for your time.

Huw says:

Too soon.
I still can't believe how we've suddenly become a team with no midfield, but there's life in us yet. It's hard to go from premiership favourites to 3 straight losses. However, I think that just shows how stupid it is to pick flag favourites after the second round.
We'll be there in September again. I still think we'll make top four.

Huw says:

Give up this early? I'm still betting on top four. And looking forward to us turning it around against Melbourne.

Virginia says:

It's possible that in the heat of the moment, I wrote some things I didn't mean. I won't give up on the Cats - I probably never will, even if I'm sixty and we're still without a flag - but I really, really thought that last night they'd show us what they were made of. The only one who really stood up was Mooney, and for that I think they should make him captain.

Peter says:

It's round 5 - no-one knows anything at this stage. Seriously. You'll probably come out and belt Melbourne next week and everyone will be back on board. Or we'll belt you and people will be calling for Bomber's resignation.

There are too many people writing too much crap about footy. Geelong were the best team in the comp and genuine premiership contenders a few weeks ago. It's not like they've forgotten how to play football entirely.

kate says:

It's very early for this talk, don't you Cats fans usually wait til you loose a final before you get this dejected?

(Meanwhile the Bombers have lost a captain for the season and are considering bringing Coleman back to life a la Buffy)
