Khoi Vinh over at Subtraction has had the grand idea of soliciting illustrations and photographs for his site’s monthly archive pages; I was pretty thrilled (and somewhat terrified) to be asked to contribute something for the month of March. It’s a photograph I took at Santa Monica, Los Angeles, earlier this year, and I’ve used it as a somewhat abstract illustration of some key words from three of Khoi’s posts. I’ll leave it to you to make the connections.
It’s pretty gratifying, too, that of the six participants in the opening round of illos, two of us are from Melbourne (the other is Paul Oslo Davis, whose work I absolutely adore). Aussie, Aussie, Aussie.
